AIRPORT ARRIVAL/TRANSPORTATION

The major airport for travelers coming into Ann Arbor is Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), located about 25 miles East of Ann Arbor.

www.metroairport.com

Transportation options to Ann Arbor from DTW

  • Taxi – There are two different taxi/car services that operate out of the DTW airport, Metro Cars are a sedan (limo) service while Metro cabs are more typical cabs. The locations are right next to each other at the airport. Follow signs for Ground Transportation. No reservation required. Fees to Ann Arbor are about $70 (metro car) and $55 (metro cab) plus tip.
  • Shuttle Bus – AirRide (www.myairride.com) is a bus/shuttle service to and from the DTW airport operated by the Ann Arbor Transit Authority. It drops passengers at a location that is about a 10 minute walk to the Central Campus hotels where we have reserved a block of rooms. The one way fee is $12.00.
  • Rental Car – DTW airport hosts all the major rental car companies. The rental lots are off airport so simply follow the signs to the rental car shuttles. The drive to Ann Arbor is an easy, 30 minute drive. You will probably not need a car in Ann Arbor if you stay at the hotels were we blocked rooms, but a car is an easy way to get to the hotels. All the hotels we blocked have free parking.
